Keir Vernon

Keir is a Licensed Paramedic and has worked for Harris County Emergency Corps since 2008. Since her first job as a Dispatcher and EMT for Stat Care EMS in 1992, she has served in many roles both in the office, and in the field as a medic.
With over 18 years of Management experience in Communications, Operational, Administrative, and Billing Departments, Keir utilizes her diverse background and expertise in the role of Vice President of Administration, and acts as the Compliance officer at HCEC. Keir is certified as an Ambulance Coder, general Healthcare Compliance Officer, and an Ambulance specific Compliance Officer. She currently oversees the Human Resources, Finance, Special Projects, and Public Relations departments at HCEC.
She is a former Board member for the Greater Houston EMS Council and previous participant in the Governors’ EMS and Trauma Advisory Council Transportation Committee. She has serves on the Board of the Texas EMS Alliance representing HCEC as a Non-Profit Provider, since 2013, while also remaining active as a team member and Administrative Officer for the Federal Texas-1 Disaster Medical Assistance Team (TX1 DMAT) since 1998.
Over the years, Keir has taught and served as a preceptor for aspiring EMS students at Lone Star North Harris, Montgomery College, and Rice University; filling her desire to teach and mentor newcomers to the industry, while furthering her own education and career path.
