January 2016 saw the end of the 2015/2016 football season for Harris County Emergency Corps’ Event Medicine division. HCEC medics generated outstanding numbers for the agency in the number of events covered, staffing hours, and transports.

HCEC staffed 40 footballs games at NRG Stadium alone. This included high school, collegiate, and NFL games. The medics also covered another 49 football games at various venues; including Rice University, Houston Baptist University, Texas Southern University, Westbury Christian, St. Thomas High School, Strake Jesuit College Preparatory, and St. Pius X.

Currently, HCEC is transitioning at NRG Stadium from the football field to “Dirt Shows” (Monster Jam and Rodeo) with the first month of this year already surpassing last year in staffing hours (700+ hours more in January 2016 vs. January 2015).
