March 04, 2016
HCEC Medical Director, Cameron Decker, MD shared his expertise at the Texas State Association of Fire and Emergency Districts (SAFE-D) Annual Conference on February 19, 2016. Dr. Decker talked to hundreds of representatives from Emergency Service Districts (ESDs) across the state about the critical role of the EMS Medical Director in pre-hospital care and the legal requirements ESDs must adhere to for the best interest of the populations they serve.
Harris County ESD1 Commissioners were in attendance. HCEC relies on ESD1 for support for its service area. There are more than 300 ESDs operating in Texas. SAFE-D’s mission is to make Texans safer by supporting the men and women of emergency services districts in the state. Since 1990, SAFE-D has been the only association dedicated to bringing local governments together to work smarter and better for Texans.
