HOUSTON, August 27, 2018– Harris County Emergency Services District #1 recently held a groundbreaking of two new EMS facilities as an effort to improve safety, convenience and technology within the service area.

“The Commissioners of Harris County ESD #1 recognized that future building development is necessary with population growth and the expected rise in service requests in our 12-zip code 911 service area,” said Jeremy Hyde, Executive Director at Harris County Emergency Corps, the not-for-profit company that operates the ambulance service for Harris County ESD #1.

Construction projects began simultaneously for stations 92, located on Isom Road, and 94, located on Aldine Bender Road. The new, innovative buildings will be capable of housing three ambulance crews, as well as additional staff when needed during disaster events. Each building will also include a large multipurpose room, with the multipurpose room at station 94 designated as a backup dispatch center.

“We expect our new stations to be fully functional in May 2019, and our crews are eager to be in their new stations,” said Hyde.
