EMS Providers Learn Latest Techniques in Lifesaving Airway Management Course
November 09, 2015
Paramedics bear the grave responsibility of holding someone’s life in their hands. Within a time span of a few fleeting minutes, what they do or do not will determine whether someone lives or dies.
Therefore, it is essential that they remain knowledgeable in all aspects of their profession and scope of practice. There are approximately 826,000 EMS providers in the United States who deliver pre-hospital care. Harris County Emergency Corps (HCEC), hosted a Difficult Airway Course for approximately 25 EMS providers on November 5-6, 2015.
Attendees came from as far away as Canada and California. HCEC is the only approved site for the Difficult Airway course in Southeast Texas.
Participants learned the full range of airway management techniques taught by HCEC’s expert faculty who know the unique challenges EMS providers face. Feedback from attendees has been extremely positive regarding the course, instructors, facilities, new SimMan manikin scenarios, and the Surgical Airway Lab.
The Difficult Airway Course will be offered again in 2016. Go to https://hcec.com/difficult-airway-course/ for the course schedule and online registration.
